Corporate and Extended Stays Near Columbus: A Guide for Traveling Professionals

Columbus has become a magnet for project teams, contractors, and relocations, driven in part by the huge build-out east of the city. If you are here for weeks rather than days, a house usually beats a hotel on both comfort and cost. We host one on the east side, and this is what makes an extended stay work.

Why the east side

The east side around Reynoldsburg sits close to the corporate corridors east of Columbus, including the Intel New Albany campus and the Amazon and distribution build-out, plus quick access to the highways and to John Glenn International Airport, about fifteen minutes away. That means shorter commutes to a work site and an easy airport run at the start and end of a rotation.

What actually matters for a long stay

• A real workspace and fast WiFi: a desk and reliable internet for calls and remote work, not a chair at a kitchen counter.
• A full kitchen: cooking a few meals a week is cheaper and healthier than eating out every night for a month.
• In-unit laundry: a washer and dryer means you pack light and stay as long as the project runs.
• Parking and space to decompress: a driveway, a yard, and a hangout area matter more the longer you are away from home.

Bringing the dog along

Relocations and long rotations often mean the dog comes too. Look for a rental with a genuinely fenced yard so a dog has room to run, and confirm the pet policy before you book. It is one of the harder things to find in corporate lodging and one of the most valuable.

Down time near the house

You will want a break from work. From the east side you are minutes from restaurants, groceries, and Target, about ten minutes from Pickerington Ponds Metro Park for a walk, and a short drive from Easton and downtown for a night out. Enough to feel settled without a long commute to a good meal.
